Apophyllite 101
Share
Apophyllite is a staff favorite crystal, and we are excited to make it our first featured stone
Apophyllite is a clear crystal with a pearlescent surface and four sides, terminating in a pyramid-like structure. The sides often have faint ridges on them running from end to end. Frequently, apophyllite will form in clusters with other members of the zeolite family. (Zeolites – if you’ve been a customer at the New Age Center, you may have heard our staff gushing about how cool Zeolites are! We’re, like, totally obsessed!) While they are often sold in clusters, sometimes pieces known as “apophyllite tips” will also be sold. These are essentially just the pyramid-like terminations. (We’ll circle back to these when we get to the metaphysical uses of apophyllite!) When you’re trying to identify apophyllite, you can look for this four-sided structure and pearly appearance. Sometimes apophyllite will also look “flakey”. These features make it easy to distinguish from lookalikes such as clear quartz.
So, what can you do with Apophyllite? Well, first and foremost, apophyllite is a subtle energy powerhouse. It is considered to be one of the best choices for doing any sort of energy healing, such as Reiki. It also works to connect the higher-vibrational spiritual energy with our day-to-day experience. To put that another way, it’s like a channel that brings spiritual light and goodness from the Universe down to where we are. Who wouldn’t want some of that?
Because of its ability to connect to the spiritual realm, apophyllite is also an excellent choice for channeling, accessing the Akashic Record, and scrying, or crystal-gazing. One way to use apophyllite for these purposes is by placing an apophyllite tip or “pyramid” (we told you we’d circle back!) on your Third Eye while meditating – the Chakra located at the forehead. This is believed to help facilitate channeling! This is a method of utilizing apophyllite that is favored by some New Age Center staff.
At the end of the day, apophyllite is a light-bringer and helps us connect to Source. It brings Divine energy, light, and love into any space where it is used. This in turn helps facilitate all manner of spiritual growth, connection, and well-being. Many crystals have a list of specific attributes, and they have their place, to be sure. But the shining feature of apophyllite (and the reason why it’s a staff favorite) is its generalized ability to just bring a flow – an expansive river of light, of love, of healing energies, and of spiritual information.
We hope you found this information useful and maybe left you inspired to try incorporating apophyllite into your daily practice. As always, we wish you peace, love, and happiness!
